GolgiCõ · Anterograde Vesicle Series

COP II

The cargo of warmth, delivered by the cage of the Golgi.

Scroll · Chapter I of XII
Chapter II · Manifesto

In every living cell, a microscopic cage of Sec13/31 proteins folds around precious cargo, ferries it from endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi, and disassembles. This is anterograde transport — the directed motion of what matters most.

COP II is its tribute, scaled to the hand. A vesicle for the world above the cell, where warmth is the cargo, the cup is the cage, and the Golgi is the table at which you sit.

What lives in glass and porcelain in the laboratory, lives in heritage materials here. The science is not aesthetic. The science is architecture.

Chapter III · The Cage Atlas

The Sec13/31 Cage.

At the heart of every COP II vesicle: a cuboctahedral lattice of Sec13 and Sec31 proteins, self-assembled around cargo. Twelve vertices. Twenty-four edges. Eight triangular faces, six square. The geometry of directed delivery.

Chapter V · Materials Codex

Provenance, in five materials.

Material N° 01
Arita Porcelain
Saga, Japan · 400 years
Fired at 1,300°C. Translucent under light. The inner vessel of the Reserve edition is hand-thrown in Arita, the village where porcelain has been made since 1616.
Material N° 02
Etched Copper
Zambia, Africa · molecular lattice
Conflict-free copper, hand-etched with the Sec13/31 cage motif. The molecular ring at the base of every vessel is engraved at 0.2mm depth.
Material N° 03
Cognac Leather
Tuscany, Italy · vegetable tan
Hand-stitched lid strap. Vegetable-tanned vachetta. The leather softens and darkens with use — every Reserve unit ages with its keeper.
Material N° 04
Sashiko Indigo
Aomori, Japan · cotton thread
The Heritage edition exterior is wrapped in hand-stitched sashiko fabric. Asanoha pattern. Indigo dye from Tokushima. Each vessel takes 14 hours to pattern.

The lid steam window. Anti-reflective coating. Watchmaker-grade. Visible mist rises through the crystal — the same material used in haute horlogerie.
