CI-2026-001 · coffee intelligence
Coffee connects plant biology, place, craft, molecules, attention and human gathering. TÉMΔK follows that entire living system—not only the final cup.
How coffee entered human life
Coffea arabica arose in the forests of Ethiopia, where the species still holds its deepest genetic diversity. People carried coffee across the Red Sea to Yemen, where cultivation helped transform a forest plant into a prepared drink and social ritual.
From Yemen, coffee travelled through ports, farms and cultures. Each place changed how it was grown, roasted, brewed and shared. Its “discovery” is therefore not one proven heroic moment, but a long human relationship with a remarkable plant.
A stimulating molecule, a complex aroma system and a ritual that creates time for attention and company.
The living journey
Selected seed begins in protected soil. Variety, genetics and early care shape what the tree may become.
The young tree meets altitude, shade, rainfall, soil and farming practice—its first sensory architecture.
White flowers become cherries. Inside each ripe fruit, usually two seeds develop: the beans we roast.
Selective picking can separate ripe cherries from unripe or damaged fruit, protecting quality at the first decisive moment.
Natural, washed and hybrid methods remove or transform the fruit around the seed, leaving distinct flavour signatures.
Dried coffee is hulled, graded, stored and transported as green coffee. Traceability keeps farm and lot identity attached.
Heat transforms the green seed: aroma compounds emerge, acids change, sugars react and the familiar coffee spectrum develops.
Water meets ground coffee. Time, temperature, particle size and ratio determine what reaches the cup—and the ritual begins.
The molecular world in the cup
A plant alkaloid that can increase alertness. Sensitivity and timing matter because it can also disturb sleep.
Enter the caffeine journey →A family of compounds abundant in green coffee and transformed by roasting. They contribute to coffee chemistry and sensory character.
Enter the chlorogenic journey →Trigonelline, organic acids, lipids, melanoidins and hundreds of volatile compounds help shape aroma, body, bitterness, acidity and finish.
Future public journeyWellbeing means relationship, not excess
Caffeinated coffee can improve alertness and aspects of attention. The pause, preparation and shared cup can also create a deliberate transition in the day.
EFSA reports that up to 400 mg of caffeine per day generally raises no safety concern for healthy adults, while a 100 mg dose may affect sleep in some people when taken near bedtime. Pregnancy and individual sensitivity require lower, personal limits.
Coffee itself is not the same as “very hot” consumption. Let the cup move into a comfortable drinking window rather than treating maximum heat as quality.
Know the coffee. Notice your response. Choose the time, amount and temperature that support your ecosystem.
Why TÉMΔK chose coffee
Coffee lets TÉMΔK connect African biological origin, molecular learning, responsible supply, sensory craft and intelligent drinkware in one understandable experience. The goal is not to sell stimulation as wellbeing. It is to help people experience coffee with more knowledge, choice and care.
